Katherine Weitbrecht

 

Katherine Weitbrecht is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Rhode Island and Massachusetts as well as a Certified Animal-Assisted Intervention Specialist. She has two years of experience working in an outpatient community behavioral health clinic, meeting with patients of all ages. Prior to that, she worked with children at risk of entering foster care and teenagers in need of assistance with developing social skills. She graduated from Curry College with a bachelor's degree in psychology and criminal justice and graduated from Bridgewater State University with a master's degree in social work.

Katherine works with people of all ages but has the most clinical experience with and interest in working with teenagers and adults. She assists clients with developing healthy coping skills and thought patterns to support improved self-confidence and emotional regulation. Katherine has worked with a wide variety of diagnoses, including: depression, anxiety, personality disorders, developmental delays, neurodevelopmental disorders, psychotic disorders, and more. She primarily utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, metacognitive strategies, and interoceptive exposure therapy. Katherine believes in tailoring treatments to each individual client's needs and goals.
