Why Epic?

Prior to participating in an ACO, RIPCPC members used a variety of EHR's to manage their practice, document patient information, and report on quality measures.  Over time, it became clear that to remain successful and to keep up with the ever evolving state of healthcare, a transition to a universal system needed to occur.  After careful consideration RIPCPC chose Epic.

Epic is one of the country’s premiere EHR software systems, has a presence on six continents, and more than 40% of the US is utilizing some component of the system. Locally, Care New England, Lifespan, Southcoast, Yale New Haven Health, and Partners HealthCare are all using Epic in some capacity.

Epic is changing the way providers interact with each other, the way patient care is handled and has taken patient access to a new and interactive level. It has created a way for patients to be more involved with the care they are receiving, and be more accountable for their own individual healthcare needs.
